LANDSCAPE

Northeast landscape across the seasons—ice, water, forest, and stone, in color and black and white.

Vermont

Winter, mostly—the years I lived up north, when the state gets down to its bones.

None of these were assignments. They came from scouting, from the hours between jobs, from driving around with a camera on the seat. Snow strips a place down until only the shapes are left, and that’s when it starts to interest me. I never called it a project. It was just where I was.

Elsewhere

Everywhere else, and every season. Years of driving with a camera—Connecticut to Maine, up through New Hampshire and New York, and a flight to Alaska. Like the Vermont work, all of it was self-assigned—just what stopped me on the way to somewhere else.
